How do I play videos and slideshows in Photos on my iPhone

Use the Photos App to play videos you've recorded or stored on your iPhone. You can also create slideshows with photos, videos, and live photos from your gallery.

Play video

While browsing photos and videos in the Photos App, tap the video to play it on your iPhone. When playing, you can do any of the following:

Tap the player control below the video to pause, unmute, bookmark, share, delete, or view the video information; Tap the screen to hide the player controls.

Tap the screen twice to switch between full screen and Fit screen.

Pause the video by pressing and holding the viewer at the bottom of the screen, then swipe the viewer left and right to move forward or backward.

The video player is located in the center of the screen. The frame viewer at the bottom of the screen displays individual video frames from left to right, with an indicator to show which video frame is playing on the screen. From left to right below the viewer are buttons for "Share," "Favorite," "Pause," "Mute" and "Delete."

Create and show slides

You can create slideshows to view a selection of photos and videos from the gallery. Slides are automatically formatted and set to music.

Tap "Gallery," then click "All Photos" or "Day" to view photos.

Tap Select.

Tap each photo you want to add to your slideshow, then tap the More button.

Tap "Slides" in the list of options.

To change the slide theme, music, etc., tap the screen while the slide is playing, then tap Options.

Note: You can also make slideshows from photo albums. Tap Album, tap the album you want to use to create the slide, and follow the steps above.
