The story of Diao Chan, one of the four beauties of ancient China
Diao Chan, one of the four great beauties in ancient China, is not recorded in ancient books, but is often described in literary works. She is one of the important figures in the conflict between The Three Kingdoms in the late Han Dynasty. Luo Guanzhong's "Romance of The Three Kingdoms" further describes and depicts Diao Chan, which has a great influence, and the folk legend is particularly moving, and she has become a household name and a well-known woman. According to scholar Meng Fanren's research, Diao Chan, surnamed Ren, with small characters Hongchang, was born in Muer Village, Jiuyuan County, Bizhou County. At the age of 15, he was elected to the palace and took charge of the Diao Chan (the hat worn by the officials of the Han Dynasty) crown, which was renamed Diao Chan from then on. At the end of the Han Dynasty, the court suddenly began to stir, and Diao Chan left the palace and was adopted by Wang Yun of Situ as his adopted daughter. Soon Dong Zhuo came to power. Wang Yun took advantage of Dong and Lu's lust, and then asked Diao Chan to perform a "serial trick", which finally prompted Lu Bu to kill Dong Zhuo and make a meritorious achievement. Later, Diao Chan became Lu Bu's concubine. After the death of Baimenlou Lu Bu, Cao Cao repeated his "serial scheme" to Taoyuan brothers and granted Guan Yu. In order not to harm the Taoyuan brothers, Diao Chan "bowed his neck and prayed for death," was protected by Guan Yu and escaped, becoming a nun. When Cao Cao heard of this, he arrested Diao Chan, who resolutely jumped at his sword and died.
Diao Chen's hometown is in Muzhi village, three kilometers southeast of Xinzhou City, on the way from Taiyuan or Xinzhou to Yuwang Cave. Muzhi village was originally rich in fungus, so the name of the fungus village, after the village because of the locust tree found a millennium ganoderma, then changed the name of wood. Rumor in the village, as early as three years before Diao Chan was born, the village peaches and apricots did not bloom, and the peach and apricot trees are still difficult to survive, which is to say that Diao Chan has a shy appearance of flowers. In the village, there are the archway, front hall, back hall, Wangyun Street, Diao Chan Stage and Diao Chan tomb. As time passed, these buildings were in ruins, and the tombs were razed to the ground in the Holocaust. There are often ancient bricks, stone components, copper coins and ceramic fragments unearthed in the site, which are said to be related to Diao Chan.
Now the tourist attraction is called Diao Chan Cemetery, which was restored and built by villagers on the original site of the cemetery in recent years. The cemetery is located in the southwest of the village, covering an area of more than 4,000 square meters, surrounded by red and yellow tiles wave-like dragon wall, in the vast wheat sea, dazzling. Hanging on the eaves of the door "Diao Chan Cemetery" horizontal plaque, on both sides of the "moonlight and Mosa flower can be proud of China; Bear shame step risk actually make the beard and eyebrows to stop "Jinwen machine. Mausoleum area in the north of the building to worship the moon pavilion and Fengyi pavilion, the rear of the building bluestone tomb, in front of the Diao cicada like tablet, in the dynamic streamers, Diao cicada walk leisurely, graceful, still have a "moon beauty" appearance. There are 20 antique buildings in the south courtyard, which is called "Diao Chan Decorated Sculpture Hall", reflecting Diao Chan's earth-shaking life of "not afraid of danger, but not at all precious."
According to local legend, after the three Taoyuan brothers gained power, they sent Diao Chan back to their hometown and buried them here after they died of old age. It was also said that Diao Cicada committed suicide with a sword, and after Guan Yu learned that he escorted the body back to his hometown for burial. Therefore, there is a statue of Guan Yu in the back hall and a stage in front of the hall to show Diaochan's acting, which is to repay Guan Yu for refusing to kill and escorting him. In the southeast of Dingxiang County, Zhonghuo village is Lv Bu's hometown, there are "Huo Qingquan", "clever capture of Red rabbit horse", "crooked neck tree" and other folklore, all related to Lv Bu. Therefore, there is a saying that "Xinzhou has no good girls, Dingxiang has no good men", which means that because of Diao Chan and Lu Bu, Xinzhou can no longer give birth to good-looking women, and Dingxiang can no longer give birth to handsome men.
