The story of the Cowherd and the Weaver

According to legend, there are two stars in the sky, one is called Zhinu, and the other is called morning glory. Two people love each other, but because of the rules of heaven must not secretly love each other.

Zhi Nu is the granddaughter of the West Queen Mother. When the West Queen Mother learned the truth, she banished the morning glory to Earth and punished the Weaver for weaving cloud brocade every day. Zhinu often wept, hoping that the West Queen Mother would show mercy and let the cow come back.

After being demoted to the world, the morning glory was reborn in a poor peasant family, called Niulang. After the death of his parents, the elder brother's sister-in-law disliked Niulang and gave him a cow to fend for himself. The cowherd and the old cow plough the fields to make a living.

But he did not know that this old cow was originally the Taurus star in the sky, and because he had spoken a few words of justice for Niulang and Zhinu, he was sent down to earth together.

One day, Zhinu and sisters privately in the world, to "green lotus pool" play. The old cow saw this, and even opened his mouth: "Niulang Niulang, go to the green lotus pool, take the red dress on the shore, the owner of the clothes is your wife."

Niulang saw many fairies bathing in the green lotus pool. And the owner of the red dress is the Weaver girl. Two people meet, unexpected surprise, since mutual set for life, male and female weaving, gave birth to a pair of children, happy.

When the West Queen Mother learned that Zhinu was in private, she was very angry and sent Heaven soldiers to catch Zhinu. The old cow knew that his time had come, so he told the cowherd to pull off the skin after his death, so that he could fly up and catch up with heaven in the skin.

When the day soldiers will catch Zhinu in the future, Niulang will put on cowhide, picking a pair of children behind the heaven, and Zhinu reluctantly.

The West queen mother saw this, with the head of the hairpin to the sky a row, there appeared an insurmountable river, the cowboy and weaver can only look at each other and not close.

Watching the scenes of tears and tears between Cowhang and a pair of children and a family, the West Wang mother was finally moved by their loyal love, and agreed that they could meet once a year on July 7.

From then on, every July 7, Niu Lang will be on the Tianhe side, waiting to meet with Zhinu.
