My father sells bamboo hats

There lived an old couple in the country who lived in great poverty. The New Year is coming, the old woman made a rice ball with only a little glutinous rice at home, ready to welcome the New Year. At this time, a nest of newborn mice in the corner of the wall was hungry and kept calling, and the old couple saw it, and gave the rice ball to the mouse.

However, this year still have to pass! So the old woman picked a lot of leaves, woven some bamboo hats, let the old man take to the market to sell. But until the evening, the old man had not sold a hat. It began to snow, and it fell harder and harder. A thick layer of snow fell on several statues of Dizang Bodhisattva on the roadside. The old man put the bamboo hats on the head of Dizang Bodhisattva and then went home.

At the door of the house, the old man shouted: "Old woman, I have come back!" Hearing the old man's cry, the old woman quickly ran out of the house: "Old man, are all the hats sold out?" The old man shook his head and told the old woman in detail what had happened. The old woman did not lose her temper because the old man gave the bamboo hat to the Bodhisattva, she said to the old man: "This is a New Year without a New Year's Eve dinner, but we still want to welcome it happily!" So they sang the New Year song happily.

Just then, there was a knock on the door. When they opened the door, they found nothing but a big sledge with a lot of food on it and a hat made by the old couple. It turned out that the Bodhisattva Dizang had sent the New Year gift to the old couple!
