Baku
Baku is the political, economic and cultural center of the country. At present, there are factories for processing canned fishery products, vegetables and fruits, and tea factories in the city. There is a mineral mud sanatorium by the sea, and not far from the city there is a scenic Kzilagchis reserve.
Nakhichevan
It is the capital of the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic and one of the largest ancient cities in Afghanistan. Located on the banks of the Nakhichevan River and across the Araz River from Iran, it is an important center for entrepot trade between Russia and Iran. Nakhichevan has about 465,700 inhabitants and is industrially developed, mainly in electronic technology, radio technology, light industry and agro-processing industry. The western part of the city is rich in rock salt deposits. The main ancient buildings are the mausoleums of Yusufa· Ibn · Qusheil, and Maminehatton (12th century).
