Singapore Customs is a national government department for trade and tax law enforcement under the Ministry of Finance, mainly responsible for national customs supervision, trade law enforcement, tariff collection and standardized management of cross-border trade. It strictly implements various customs regulations, free trade agreement clauses and strategic goods control policies, standardizes full-process businesses including cross-border goods import and export, tariff collection, trade declaration and compliance verification, and cracks down on illegal acts such as smuggling and irregular trade. With a sound internal structure consisting of a Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, Internal Audit Office and six functional divisions, it coordinates customs supervision, trade law enforcement, policy implementation and risk prevention. Through a standardized cross-border trade supervision system, it ensures the orderly development of Singapore’s cross-border trade and compliant tax collection, safeguards international trade order and supports the steady development of the national free trade industry.
