University of Macau (UM), the first comprehensive public research university in Macao, was formerly known as the University of East Asia established in 1981. It officially moved to its campus in the Hengqin Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone (under the jurisdiction of the Macao Special Administrative Region) in 2014, marking a new stage of development. With the motto "Benevolence, Righteousness, Propriety, Wisdom, Integrity" and the philosophy of "People-Oriented, Environment for Education", UM is committed to integrating Chinese and Western cultures, promoting international education and cutting-edge research.
