About DAFF
The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) is a core functional department of the Australian Federal Government, officially established on July 1, 2022. It evolved from the agricultural-related functional sectors of the former "Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment". As the key institution coordinating the development of Australia's three foundational industries, DAFF adheres to the vision of "building a more sustainable and prosperous Australia through biosecurity, agricultural production and trade". Headquartered in Canberra, it is currently overseen by Julie Collins, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, with Adam Fennessy serving as the departmental executive director.
